Secondary Overview

The Secondary School is broken into three areas:

  • lower secondary (years 7,8,9 – ages 12-14, also known internationally as Key Stage 3)
  • first public examination stage (years 10,11 – GCSE exams – ages 15-16 also known internationally as Key Stage 4)
  • upper secondary – years 12 and 13 (ages 17-18 also known internationally as Key Stage 5) where pupils are prepared for their end of school public exams.

We have started the process of seeking approval from IBO to offer the IB Diploma programme, which takes places in Key Stage 5. Until this is approved we shall offer the standard end of school exams taken in England, which are very popular across the globe, A levels.
